Project Overview
The project involved the construction of Latifa Hospital (previously known as Al Wasl Maternity & Paediatric Hospital), a state-of-the-art, 324-bed medical facility with a floor area of 40,000 square metres.
The scope of work included a 324-bed unit with all facilities, a helipad, computer controlled electricity system, isolation wards, VIP suites, a kindergarten, playgrounds, parents’ lounge and places for relaxation. It also included a storage compound for oil, oxygen and water, as well as car parking and residential villas for staff.
The Latifa Hospital project required 33,000 cubic metres of reinforced concrete, 250 tons of steel reinforcement, 2,170 tons of prefabricated steel mesh reinforcement for the floor slabs, and 100,000 square metres of block-work.
